I am a Research Professor at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), where I conduct research in multi-agent systems, machine learning, and value-aligned artificial intelligence. I am a member of the Multi-Agent Systems department.
I hold a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (2001) and an MSc in Computer Vision (1998) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
I am a Fellow of the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (EurAI, 2013), a Member of the ELLIS Society (2024), and a member of the International Foundation for Multiagent Systems board (2024).
